About the Role and White Cross - Glenfield: 

 

We seek a passionate Charge Nurse to bolster our team's clinical leadership and operational management. Reporting to the Cluster Manager/Nurse Regional Lead and Chief Nursing Officer, the Charge Nurse will oversee patient care within our healthcare facility, requiring exceptional clinical acumen, leadership prowess, and a steadfast dedication to upholding organisational standards and protocols.

White Cross Glenfield Urgent Care and GP offers comprehensive urgent care services seven days a week, ensuring quick medical assistance for accidents, illnesses, and minor injuries like cuts, burns, and sprains. Located conveniently on Glenfield Road in Auckland’s North Shore, our clinic provides both urgent care and family doctor appointments Monday through Sunday. Our diverse team delivers warm, friendly care in multiple languages, and we are an approved provider of Immigration New Zealand medical exams. With onsite x-ray services, ACC accreditation, and easy access via walk-ins or appointments, we're dedicated to your health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Prioritize and administer patient care, ensuring its safety, effectiveness, and timeliness.
  • Lead in triage, treatment initiation, and patient education, adhering to organisational protocols.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records to uphold legal and ethical standards.
  • Cultivate a collaborative team environment, fostering professional growth and best practices.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance care quality and facilitate improvement initiatives.
  • Support Urgent Care, General Practice and Cornerstone Audits.
  • Participate in staff recruitment, rostering, performance assessments, and nursing development.
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies and procedures.

 

About your profile:

 

  • Holds a current NZNC APC.
  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience.
  • Preferably possesses experience in urgent care and general practice.
  • Previous leadership experience in nursing preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with ACC and PHC funding models.
  • Strong organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with MedTech Evolution desirable.
  • Demonstrates commitment to health equity and cultural competency, with an understanding of Tikanga Māori, Kawa Māori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
